Preparing your experience

Our developer note series.
Hey Chapists, it’s great to be back!
It’s been a little while since our last update, but the wait has been worth it. October has been a month of meaningful improvements — expanding our payment network, empowering businesses with better management tools, and making our developer experience even more seamless.
Here’s what’s new this October
You asked, we delivered.
Awash Bank is now live as an additional payment option for both API integrations and Direct Charge.
This means customers can now pay using Awash Wallet or Awash Bank Account, giving merchants and users more flexibility and choice when transacting through Chapa.
We’ve added a brand new Transaction Cancellation Endpoint, allowing businesses to cancel active transactions directly via API using the transaction reference.

Introducing Business Management — a new feature that allows Business Administrators to manage multiple businesses under a single Chapa account.
With this role, you can:

We’ve launched the Chapa Monitor Bot (@chapamonitorbot) — your real-time alert system for partner wallet or bank status updates.
Add it to your Telegram group or join the Chapa Notification Channel to stay on top of partner availability without switching tools.
We’ve enhanced webhook delivery reliability.
If a 2xx response isn’t received for a transaction, the system will now automatically retry delivery up to 5 times, ensuring your systems never miss critical payment updates.
We’ve added a Daily Limit (Account Level) attribute in Radar.
This allows businesses to cap total daily payouts per user, offering stronger control and security over payout activity.
We’re proud to strengthen our partnership with Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest and most celebrated carrier.
Now, travelers can buy flight tickets directly using local cards through Chapa — making it easier than ever for customers across Ethiopia to pay securely and instantly when booking their trips.
This partnership brings local card payment convenience to one of Africa’s biggest brands, showing how Chapa continues to power everyday experiences — from business to travel — with simple, reliable payments.
From new payment options to smarter controls and developer-first tools, this month’s updates continue to make Chapa more flexible, powerful, and reliable for everyone building with us.
Until next time
